Morning and After School Care Club
Leigh North Street Primary provide a very successful Morning and After School care club for 4 -11 year old children. Our clubs have a maximum of 50 places and a waiting list is kept. Ofsted reports have commented favourably in regards to our wrap-around child care. In addition to this local schools and the Southend Local Authority have visited us to witness good practise and seek advice. All of our staff have first aid and safeguarding training with the addition of key workers receiving food preparation and hygiene training.
Spaces will be prioritised to children with siblings already attending this provision.
This provision provides several benefits:
- Reassures working parents that their children are in a safe/familiar environment
- Enables parents wishing to return to the work force
- Morning Club helps children who are anxious about school by preparing them for the day ahead as this is a fun way to start.
- A level 3 Staff member is always on sight.
- Promotes interaction with children of differing ages.
- Promotes healthy living as meals provided are in line with our Healthy Schools ethos.
- Staff are employees during the school day at LNSPS.
All children have the opportunity to take part in activities such as art and craft, Lego, movies (wet days), sports/playtime outside, homework, table tennis, drama, snooker and board games. Children are also given the opportunity to just ‘chill’.

Morning Care
Cost: £6 per session (paid half termly, in advance, online through IRIS +PAY)
Time: 7:30am (Children are escorted to their classroom at the beginning of the school day)
Drop off point: North Street entrance double blue gates - drop off time between 7:30am and 8:00am
Staffing: Mrs McCabe leads morning Club with additional support from other LNSPS staff. We have standby staff for absence or if numbers increase.
Breakfast: A selection of low sugar/salt cereals, fruit, toast and ‘morning suitable’ drinks are available to children.

Child Care Vouchers: These can be used, please speak to the club supervisor for each club for details.
Online Payment: This can be paid via your IRIS +PAY
After School Care
Cost: £11 per session (paid half termly, in advance, online through IRIS +PAY)
Times: 3pm – 5:45pm (Younger children are escorted from their classroom)
Pick up point: North Street entrance double blue gates.
Staffing: Mrs Hatton leads After School Care with additional support from LNSPS staff. We have standby staff for absence or if numbers increase.
Snacks: Although we will be supplying a selection of baguettes and fruit, your child is more than welcome to bring their own along. Please bear in mind that this ‘healthy’ snack will need to remain in your child’s school bag all day.

If your child attends an additional club afterschool, i.e. Football/Choir, they are required to register with Mrs Hatton before going to their club. They will then return to the after school club for pick up.

Persistent Lateness
Persistent lateness at pick up time will incur a daily charge depending on the club attended. We do understand that on the odd occasion, ‘things happen’.
Pick Up Point
All children will be picked up before 5:45pm from North Street entrance the blue double gates. Under no circumstances will children be released to an unknown adult unless pre-arranged or a password is given. Children will not be permitted to walk home on their own, including the summer months.
Please call the After School Care direct number 07510 168114 when you arrive and your child/ren will be brought to you at the double blue gates along North Street for collection
